It has been a while since my last newsletter. I hope everyone has been doing well since winter started. I have been busy with research and educational programs.
As temperatures drop, the positive/Yang energy of nature diminishes, and the negative/Yin energy reaches its peak. According to the laws of nature, plants and animals slow down their activity and patiently await spring. During this time, as all living things gradually slow down, we can nourish our energy, build strength, and prepare for the coming spring to help us get through the year.
Poor winter health care can weaken your immune system, making you more vulnerable to illness and other health issues. It also prolongs recovery from illness.
Conditions such as:
Neuralgia: Pain and numbness along the nerves
Rheumatism: Swelling and pain in joints
Lumbar pain: Lower back pain and heaviness
Frozen shoulder: Shoulder pain that makes it difficult to lift the arm
Neck-shoulder-arm syndrome: Pain and fatigue from the neck to the arm
Besides neuromuscular conditions, women also suffer from menstrual pain and other gynecological issues.
So, how can we get through this cold, damp, and long winter without feeling too down?
As mentioned above, acupuncture and warming meridian techniques can help dispel cold and dampness from the body and are excellent options. In severe cases, we also use natural Traditional Chinese Medicine herbs as an internal balancing method to address the root causes.
In addition, one fundamental aspect of health care is eating seasonal foods. Along with potatoes and mushrooms, spinach, Chinese cabbage, and radishes come into season at the beginning of winter. Winter vegetables have a warming effect on the body and are rich in vitamins. Vegetables that provide warmth in winter include leeks, pumpkin, yams, ginger, garlic, fennel, and coriander. Seafood such as salmon, mackerel, and oysters firm up in the cold and are high in unsaturated fatty acids like DHA and EPA, which the human body needs for blood circulation.
Warmest wishes for a holiday season filled with joy, peace, and good health! Thank you for choosing us. 🎄⛪💞
